Hello.

I'm Will. I write software for a living, make music in the evenings, and I've been quietly building things on the web for over twenty years. This site is where I keep notes on all of it — the code, the music, the things that don't fit cleanly into either.

Developer, musician, geek. Shorter than my LinkedIn bio, and roughly as accurate.

The day-job version of me is currently CPTO at Think Digital Group, the parent company of Asset TV. I lead engineering and product across the group, and most of that work has a thread of AI running through it these days — not the breathless replace-everyone kind. I'm a believer in considerate adoption: using these tools to free people from the repetitive, time-eating bits of their jobs so they can put their energy where it actually adds value. The same applies on my side of the desk — agentic development has quietly let me ship side projects that would otherwise have stayed firmly in my head. This site is one of them.

Speaking of which — I make a small Mac app called Dotvault for managing the .env files that quietly run everything. Encrypted snapshots, scoped per-project, never phones home. It's the tool I wanted, so I built it.

Music-wise, I've been at it my whole life. Over the last couple of years I've actually started writing and releasing properly — a handful of EPs and a couple of albums out so far under my own name, mostly downtempo electronic. The longer story lives at Will Wilson Music.

The other half of the music side is PolyOrbit — an electronic duo I've been part of for the best part of twenty years. Everything's recorded live and shaped in post afterwards, which keeps the mood of the session in the final result rather than polishing it out.

This site has existed in one form or another since 2007 and is finally getting a long-overdue new lease of life. No newsletter, no comments, no tracking — grab the RSS feed if that's still your thing, otherwise just check back occasionally. Email me at will@mojowill.com — I'm slow but I do read everything.
